Genie Introduces Super-Straddle™ Accessory Redesign

Newark, UK (July 1, 2008) – Genie Industries today introduced the Super-Straddle™ accessory redesign. The Super-Straddle™ is an attachment that allows operators to mount a Genie® AWP™ Super Series™ personnel lift above obstacles such as fixed seating in theaters, auditoriums and convention centers. It provides up and over access for the Genie® AWP™ Super Series™ to be used in spaces that are otherwise inaccessible and hard to reach. Now available in all markets worldwide, the new Genie® Super-Straddle™ was redesigned to meet the latest ANSI A92.3 standards and is CE compliant.

“The Super-Straddle™ is a versatile, efficient accessory for facilities such as schools and churches,” said Kim Williams, senior market analyst, Genie Industries. “It allows easy overhead access for maintenance like changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling panels and even for touching up paint.”

Easy to assemble and operate, the new Super-Straddle™ weighs 274 kg (580 lbs) and provides up to 1.22 meters (4 ft) of vertical clearance from the ground. The end frames adjust for leveling on floors with slopes up to six degrees. Additionally, display lights on the AWP™ Super Series™ lift’s ground control panel will notify operators when the Super-Straddle™ is set up correctly and ready to operate.

One of many accessories available with the Genie® AWP™ product line, the Super-Straddle™ is compatible with all Genie® AWP™ Super Series models (AWP™-20S, -25S, -30S, -36S and -40S) manufactured since 1995.
